The Passenger Bill of Rights

The Passenger's Charter of Rights is a practical guide in which ENAC has summarized the useful information for those traveling by air.

Drawn up for the first time in 2001 and distributed in all Italian airports, the Charter was then updated in 5 subsequent editions, with a total circulation of over half a million copies; the fifth version was published in 2005, coinciding with the entry into force of new rules regarding delays and cancellations of flights, to highlight in particular the increase in the amount of financial compensation due by carriers in the event of denied boarding due to overbooking, and the introduction of forms of compensation and assistance in the event of flight cancellation or long delays, as well as the extension of these protections to passengers on charter flights.

The sixth edition, available in the major Italian airports from 19 March 2009, presents a new graphic design and is renewed in style and content: it takes into account, among other things, the recent European provisions on the rights of disabled passengers, the regulations regarding safety and surveillance of operators, of the regulation for the transport of liquids on board aircraft.

A new section is dedicated to "Transparent Rates", a legend of all the items that make up the final cost of an airline ticket.
