Passeggero al Sicuro is proud to announce a significant step towards reducing the cost of flights to Sicily.
Our spearhead, the lawyerFederica Casarubea, played a decisive role as legal consultant for the Sicily Region, in particular for the Infrastructure and Mobility department (heading to the councilorAlessandro Aricò), contributing to the creation of an innovative project presented last November 10, which promises to make air travel more accessible to all residents of Sicily.
Federica Casarubea's Consultation: An In-Depth Analysis for the Good of Passengers
Lawyer Federica Casarubea, with her extensive legal experience, has conducted an in-depth comparative analysis with other successful models, such as the system adopted in the Balearic Islands. This comparison phase inspired the project, guiding it in the evaluation of passenger flows to identify the ideal airports for the experimental implementation of the measures.
The Revolutionary Plan Presented at the Palace of Orleans
The fruit of this collaboration was proudly presented at the Palace of Orleans by the governorRenato Schifaniand by the Councilor for Infrastructure and TransportAlessandro Aricò. The economic contribution consists of a 25% reduction on the cost of the plane ticket, for the benefit of passengers residing in the Sicily Region. The plan also aims to reduce the cost of tickets for specific priority categories by 50% – a crucial step towards ensuring more affordable and accessible travel.
Priority Categories: Who Will Benefit from the 50% Reduction?
The priority categories identified are students, disabled people with at least 67% disability and residents with an ISEE of less than 9,360 euros. This selection aims to provide additional support aimed at the sections of the population that need it most.
Refund Procedure and Involvement of Airlines:A 25% reduction in the cost of the ticket is guaranteed to all residents in Sicily. To this 25%, for the priority categories indicated above (always resident in Sicily), it is possible to add a further 25%, thus arriving at a discount equal to 50% of the total cost of the ticket. Participating airlines will be involved in ascertaining eligibility requirements, ensuring correct implementation of the plan.
In conclusion, the project to combat high flight prices in Sicily represents a bold step towards greater equity in air transport. Thanks to the legal advice of Federica Casarubea, the heart of Passeggero al Sicuro, we hope for a future in which traveling to Sicily will be more convenient and accessible for everyone.
Stay tuned for further updates and to be an integral part of this revolution in the world of air transport.
